General description: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) is a fluoropolymer which is the most lubricious polymer with low co-efficient of friction. PTFE tubing is chosen due to its excellent hydrophobicity, chemical inertness, and ability to withstand high pressures. It can be suitable to protect the optical fibres.
