General description: | ZooMAb antibodies represent an entirely new generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies. Each ZooMAb antibody is manufactured using our proprietary recombinant expression system, purified to homogeneity, and precisely dispensed to produce robust and highly reproducible lot-to-lot consistency. Only top-performing clones are released for use by researchers. Each antibody is validated for high specificity and affinity across multiple applications, including its most commonly used application. ZooMAb antibodies are reliably available and ready to ship when you need them. Learn more about ZooMAb here. |
Immunogen: | His-tagged recombinant protein fragment corresponding to 166 amino acids from the C-terminal half of human Myoblast determination protein 1 (MyoD1). |
Legal Information: | ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany |
Physical form: | Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL. |
Reconstitution: | 0.3 mg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type. |
Specificity: | Clone IF22 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Myoblast determination protein 1 (MyoD1). It targets an epitope within the C-terminal half. |
Storage and Stability: | Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws. |
Target description: | Myoblast determination protein 1 (UniProt: P15172; also known as Class C basic helix-loop-helix protein 1, bHLHc1, Myogenic factor 3, Myf-3) is encoded by the MYOD1 (also known as BHLHC1, MYF3, MYOD) gene (Gene ID: 4654) in human. MyoD is a skeletal muscle-specific bHLH transcription factor that is activated during myogenesis and commits undifferentiated cells to the muscle lineage. It is a master regulator of the muscle-specific transcription program and it controls the expression of many structural, functional, and metabolic skeletal muscle-specific genes. It is also involved in muscle repair process. MyoD forms heterodimers with the bHLH E-proteins E12 and E47 and activates transcription through binding to the CACCTG/CAGCTG E-box sequences. It can undergo phosphorylation by CDK9, and this phosphorylation promotes its function in muscle differentiation. MyoD is shown to interact with and is inhibited by the Twist protein. MYOD gene is reported to be a clock-controlled gene whose rhythmic expression is driven by the activity of CLOCK:BMAL1 heterodimer. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. |
