Legal Information: | ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany |
Physical form: | Purified recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL. |
Reconstitution: | 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type. |
Specificity: | Clone 1H17 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects DNA-binding protein SATB2. It targets an epitope within 21 amino acids from the C-terminal half. |
Storage and Stability: | Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws. |
Target description: | DNA-binding protein SATB2 (UniProt: Q9UPW6; also known as Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2, SATB2) is encoded by the SATB2 (also known as KIAA1034) gene (Gene ID: 23314) in human. SATB2 serves as a transcription factor controlling nuclear gene expression by binding to matrix attachment regions (MARs) of DNA and inducing a local chromatin-loop remodeling. It recognizes the sugar-phosphate structure of double-stranded DNA. It acts as a docking site for several chromatin remodeling enzymes and recruits corepressors (HDACs) or coactivators (HATs) directly to promoters and enhancers. SATB2 contains two 2 CUT DNA-binding domains (aa 350-437 and 473-560) and a classic homeobox DNA binding domain (aa 615-674). It is highly expressed in the adult brain and its moderate expression has been reported in fetal brain. Postnatally, it is required for proper dendritic and soma adhesion of callosal neurons in neocortex and its deletion is reported to cause impairment in long-term memory. Mutations in SATB2 gene have been linked to cleft palate condition. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
