Immunogen: KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 23 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human CAPRIN1.
Legal Information: ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
Reconstitution: 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
Specificity: Clone 1F2 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects CAPRIN1. It targets an epitope within 23 amino acids from the C-terminal region.
Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Target description: Caprin-1 (UniProt: Q14444; also known as Cell cycle-associated protein 1, Cytoplasmic activation- and proliferation-associated protein 1, GPI-anchored membrane protein 1, GPI-anchored protein p137, GPI-p137, p137GPI, Membrane component chromosome 11 surface marker 1, RNA granule protein 105) is encoded by the CAPRIN1 (also known as GPIAP1, GPIP137, M11S1, RNG105) gene (Gene ID: 4076) in human. Caprin1 is a ubiquitously expressed cytoplasmic RNA-binding phosphoprotein that participates in the regulation of cell cycle control-associated genes. Its levels, except in the brain, are tightly correlated with cellular proliferation. It can act alone or in combination with other RNA-binding protein, such as RasGAP SH3-domain binding protein 1. It is also reported to upregulate the expression of immune checkpoint proteins. In the nervous system, it is involved in the regulation of transport and translation of mRNA of proteins involved in synaptic plasticity in neurons. In neurons, it can directly bind to several mRNA associated with RNA granules including BDNF, MAP2, CAMK2A, and CREB1. In bone marrow cells, Caprin1 levels are shown to increase when cells are stimulated to divide with hemopoietic growth factors such as IL-3 or CSF-1. Its level is diminished in M1 monocytic leukemic cells when they are induced to differentiate to nondividing cells. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
