Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Target description: Integrin alphaV beta6 (UniProt: P08648/P18564) is encoded by ITGA5/ITGB6 genes (Gene ID: 3678/3694) in human. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins that control cell attachment. Fourteen different alpha chains are reported to associate with 8 beta chains to form 24 receptors. Integrins are differentially glycosylated, spliced, and activated in response to their cellular and extracellular environments. They function in cell surface adhesion and signaling. Integrin alphaV beta6 are single-pass type I heterodimeric membrane proteins that serve as a receptor for fibronectin and cytotactin. It is detected only in epithelial cell lines. It is not expressed in healthy adult epithelia but is shown to be upregulated during wound healing and in cancer. It recognizes the sequence RGD in its ligands. Internalization of integrin alphaV beta6 via clathrin-mediated endocytosis is reported to promote carcinoma cell invasion. Integrin alphaV beta6 is shown to mediate RGD-dependent release of TGF-beta-1 from regulatory latency-associated peptide (LAP) and plays a role in the activation of TGF-beta-1. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
