General description: | ZooMAb antibodies represent an entirely new generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies. Each ZooMAb antibody is manufactured using our proprietary recombinant expression system, purified to homogeneity, and precisely dispensed to produce robust and highly reproducible lot-to-lot consistency. Only top-performing clones are released for use by researchers. Each antibody is validated for high specificity and affinity across multiple applications, including its most commonly used application. ZooMAb antibodies are reliably available and ready to ship when you need them. Learn more about ZooMAb here. |
Immunogen: | KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 25 amino acids from the N-terminal half of human cell division cycle-5 like protein (CDC5L). |
Legal Information: | ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany |
Physical form: | Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL. |
Reconstitution: | 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type. |
Specificity: | Clone 4F8 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Cell division cycle 5-like protein (CDC5L). It targets an epitope within 25 amino acids from the N-terminal half. |
Storage and Stability: | Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws. |
Target description: | Cell division cycle 5-like protein (UniProt: Q99459; also known as Cdc5-like protein, Pombe cdc5-related protein, CDC5L) is encoded by the CDC5L (also known as KIAA0432, PCDC5RP0) gene (Gene ID: 988) in human. CDC5L is a homodimeric DNA-binding protein that is involved in cell cycle control and may act as a transcription activator. It is shown to be a positive regulator of cell cycle G2/M progression. It is present in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm and shuttles between these two compartments. Its nuclear localization signal sequence is contained in amino acids 165-271. It is a core component of the human Prp19/CDC5L complex that is required for pre-mRNA processing. CDC5L also modulates the expression of a set of genes that are involved in the mitosis and the DNA damage response. Its phosphorylation on threonine 411 and threonine 438 is required for CDC5L-mediated mRNA splicing. CDC5L is shown to be highly expressed in cervical tumors and osteosarcoma and a chromosomal aberration involving CDC5l has been reported in multicystic renal dysplasia. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
