Biochem/physiol Actions: Tyrosine-protein kinase (FYN) is a member of the protein-tyrosine kinase oncogene family. It encodes a membrane-associated tyrosine kinase that has been implicated in the control of cell growth. The protein associates with the p85 subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and interacts with the fyn-binding protein. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms exist.

FYN controls mitogenic signals and regulates cell cycle entry and proliferation. Upregulation of FYN in thyroid carcinoma plays an important role in tumorigenesis. Overexpression of FYN in brain is linked to Alzheimer′s disease (AD). It is also involved in T-cell signalling, myelination, learning and memory, neuroinflammation, apoptosis and cell adhesion.

General description: Tyrosine-protein kinase (FYN) is located on human chromosome 6q21. It is a 59 kDa protein with the attachment sites for saturated fatty acid addition in the N terminal, a unique region, a Src-homology 3 (SH3) domain, a Src-homology 2 (SH2) domain, a tyrosine kinase domain (SH1) and a C-terminal negative regulatory domain.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human FYN
Other Notes: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: GCVQCKDKEATKLTEERDGSLNQSSGYRYGTDPTPQHYPSFGVTSIPNYN
Physical form: Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

New Tariffs & Effects on Pricing

Tariff note: As we navigate the current environment of tariff surcharges and mid-year manufacturer price increases, we want to keep you informed. While we have avoided making specific decisions thus far, we anticipate that we will be forced to implement a cost adjustment policy to offset the fees we have already been absorbing. We are committed to transparency and moderation in this process.
