Human HeLa cells were fixed and permeabilized with methanol followed by acetone. Fixed cells were stained with 5 μg/mL Anti-Sec23 (Cat. No. S7696) and developed with Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, Cy3 conjugate.
Western Blotting Whole extract of NIH-3T3 cells were separated on SDS-PAGE and probed with Anti-Sec23 antibody produced in Rabbit (Cat. No. S7696). The antibody was developed using 1:10,000 Anti-Rabbit IgG (whole molecule)-Peroxidase antibody produced in Goat (Cat. No. A0545). Lanes 1. 1 μg/mL antibody 2. 2 μg/mL antibody 3. Negative Control

Biochem/physiol Actions: Sec23A (Sec23 homolog A) plays an important role in protein trafficking between the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. It also participates in anti-tumorigenesis. Suppressing the expression of Sec23A induces multiplication, migration, and invasion of CRC cells (colorectal cancer). Mutation in SEC23A gene results in cranio-lenticulo-sutural dysplasia.

General description: Sec23 has two isoforms, Sec23A and Sec23B. Sec23A is mainly found in the ribosome-free transitional face of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and associated vesicles.
General description: Sec23A (Sec23 homolog A) is a human Sec23 paralog, that is a GTPase-activating protein. It is a fundamental constituent of the coat protein II complex. It is located on human chromosome 14q21.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 1-18 of human Sec23A with C-terminal added cysteine conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in rat and mouse Sec23A and differs by one amino acid in human and mouse Sec23B.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
