| General description: | Neutral Red is a cationic dye that is used for nuclear counterstaining in biological research. It also serves as a pH indicator in analytical laboratories. On decomposition, neutral red dye releases carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides, and hydrogen chlorides. Therefore, this dye is considered toxic and is recommended to remove before discharge into receiving streams. |
