| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Linoleic acid (LA) is an arachidonic acid precursor, which is present in vegetable oils. It enhances wound healing in diabetic rats. LA triggers tumor and apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells. The levels of LA in adipose tissue and platelets are associated with coronary artery disease. Linoleic acid binds to molecules, such as bovine serum albumin (BSA) or cyclodextrin for use in cell culture. |
