| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Interleukin-22 (IL-22) belongs to the IL-10 family of T-cell associated cytokines, highly expressed by Th17 cell subset and also by cells of innate immunity system. The cellular effects of IL-22 are mediated by a heterodimeric receptor made up of IL-22 and IL-10Rβ. IL-22 signaling mediates proliferation of epithelial cells during inflammation mainly by the activation of STAT1 and STAT3 signaling. |
