Biochem/physiol Actions:	3-Hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A (HBCoA) is converted to bacterial polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHB) by polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) synthases. 3-Hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A is a substrate used to measure the specificity and kinetics of β-hydroxyacyl CoA dehydrogenase.
