| Features and Benefits: | • This novel core bead technology enables efficient contaminant capture while target molecules get trapped in the flowthrough. • Hydrophobic and positively charged ligands • Offers improved productivity and higher flow rates than standard size exclusion (gel filtration) methods. • Flowthrough chromatography allows straightforward and robust performance. • Multimodal removal of contaminants • Convenient small-scale purification and process development • Scaling up is simple using prepacked HiTrap® and HiScreen™ columns. • Resin meets industrial demands for supply security and regulatory support. |
| General description: | Capto™ Core 700 exhibits dual functionality due to the novel core bead technology and multimodal, octylamine ligand. This chromatography resin possesses size exclusion and binding properties. Capto™ Core 700 comprises a ligand-activated core and inactive shell. The inactive shell aids in preventing large molecules (cut off ~ Mr 700 000) from entering the core via the pores of the shell. The core of each bead is functionalized with hydrophobic and positively charged ligands. The smaller size impurities bind to the multimodal internalized ligands and the larger molecules get collected in the column flowthrough. Cleaning-in-place (CIP) processes use NaOH and, in most cases, a solvent to remove bound contaminants from the beads. HiTrap® and HiScreen™ columns can be linked in series for enhanced capacity, making them ideal for generating an efficient and robust separation system. |
| General description: | Dynamic binding capacities were measured at 10% breakthrough with a residence time of 3 min (1.6 ml/min = 200 cm/h) in HiScreen columns. Buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.5. |
