Laser scanning confocal image of the distribution of cytoskeletal actin in the cortical region of the oocyte in the developing follicle of giant silkmoth (Hyalophora carcopia). Stained with Monoclonal Anti-Actin, (clone no. KJ43A, PrCat. No. A1804) followed by Goat Anti-Mouse IgG-Biotin conjugate (Cat. No. B7264) and ExtrAvidin-FITC (Cat. No. E2761). From I. Sauman, Wesleyan Univ., Middletown, CT.
Immunohistochemistry Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue section of human appendix stained with Monoclonal Anti-Actin, α-Smooth Muscle (Cat. No. A2547) followed by Biotin (Cat. No. B0529) and by 20 MUg/ml ExtrAvidin®-FITC (Cat. No. E2761).
Immunofluorescence Mouse splenocytes cells were stained with Anti-Mouse IgG (whole molecule)-Biotin antibody produced in Rabbit (Cat. No. B8520). The conjugate was developed using 1:200 ExtrAvidin®-FITC (Cat. No. E2761).

General description: Avidin is a tetrameric or dimeric biotin-binding protein produced in the oviducts of birds, reptiles and amphibians and deposited in the whites of their eggs. It consists of four high affinity binding sites for biotin. ExtrAvidin is prepared from egg white avidin. It is a modified form of affinity purified avidin and combines high specific activity of avidin with the low background staining of streptavidin. It is a biotin binding protein produced by the bacteria Streptomyces avidinii. ExtrAvidin has been conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and is used for various techniques.

New Tariffs & Effects on Pricing

Tariff note: As we navigate the current environment of tariff surcharges and mid-year manufacturer price increases, we want to keep you informed. While we have avoided making specific decisions thus far, we anticipate that we will be forced to implement a cost adjustment policy to offset the fees we have already been absorbing.
