• to accelerate β-oxidation for the formation of acetyl-coA akin
• to increase the rate of astrocyte ketogenesis
• in chemical 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) coupling of carboxylic acids to coenzyme A (CoA)

General description: Octanoic acid is an eight carbon fatty acid, which is found in palm, coconut oil and milk. It is used to treat candidiasis and bacterial infections. Octanoic acid has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is used in nutritional supplementation.
