Biochem/physiol Actions:	New type of bacterial, quorum sensing signal compound. Quorum sensing mechanism has been investigated in Rhodopseudomonas palustris, but the signal compound has been discovered in other bacteria such as Bradyrhizobium sp. or Silicibacter pomeroyi.
