Application: | A medium where the animal derived peptone was replaced by a plant peptone. It is used for enumeration of Escherichia coli and coliforms in water, using membrane filter technique. It is recommended by ISO Committee under the specification ISO 9308-1:1990. |

Preparation Note: | Suspend 76.2 g in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Dispense as desired and sterilize by steaming for 30 minutes on three consecutive days or by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. |
