Application: NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), Grade I has been used in the kinetic studies of human class IV alcohol dehydrogenase.
Application: NAD has been used in in vitro glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) deacetylation assay. It has also been used as a component in assay mix for the determination of kinetic characteristics using an enzyme-linked kinetic assay.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Electron acceptor
Biochem/physiol Actions: NAD is also involved in microbial catabolism. β-NAD acts as a substrate for various enzymes in several cellular processes.
Biochem/physiol Actions: The NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)/NADH ratio regulates the intracellular redox potential, thereby influencing metabolic reactions in vivo. It works as an electron acceptor.
General description: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a ubiquitously found electron carrier and a cofactor. NAD+ contains an adenylic acid and a nicotinamide-5′-ribonucleotide group linked together by a pyrophosphate moiety. In NAD+ complexes, the enzyme-cofactor interactions are highly conserved.
Other Notes: For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Other Notes: This is the common form of NAD.
Packaging: Packaged by solid weight.
Preparation Note: Storage conditions (working solution): 10 mg/ml in aqueous solution, contains at least 99% NAD after 4 weeks at 2 to 8 °C
Quality: Purity: 100% β-NAD based on dry weight (enzymatically, CN-complex and absorbance); A250nm - A260nm : 0.83 ± 0.02, A280nm - A260nm : 0.22 ± 0.02
