Application: | DNA that contains dUTP is susceptible to hydrolysis with Uracil-DNA Glycosylase. Therefore, dUTP is most commonly used (e.g., in PCRs and RT-PCRs with Taq DNA Polymerase) to prevent carryover contamination.However, dUTP is also a substrate for other DNA synthesizing enzymes (e.g., the Kornberg DNA polymerase and the Klenow Enzyme). Therefore, dUTP can be used for DNA sequencing, labeling, and all types of amplification reactions or primer-extension reactions. |
