Application: Gold(III) chloride trihydrate is a chemical catalyst, often employed in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is used as a catalyst in oxidation reactions, such as the synthesis of vinyl ethers and esters.[1] Gold(III) chloride trihydrate can be used as a precursor for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles, which find applications in fields such as medicine (for targeted drug delivery and imaging), electronics (for conductive inks and sensors), and optics (for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy). [2,3] Gold(III) chloride trihydrate is also used in surface chemistry studies, particularly in the modification of surfaces for specific applications, such as in biosensors and fuel cells.
