| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Plasminogen activator, urokinase receptor (PLAUR) plays a vital role in tumor cell invasion, angiogenesis and metastasis. It acts as a key regulator of cell-surface plasminogen activator. It is implicated in various normal and pathological processes. Elevated expression of the gene has been observed in various types of cancers, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Thus, it is considered as an potent biomarker for targeted imaging or therapy. Upregulated expression of PLAUR leads to the progression of kidney disease in children. |
