It is a member of troponin C superfamily, the members of which have six EF-hand domains that bind to calcium. It has a molar mass of 29kDa. It is predominantly expressed by certain cells in the nervous system and also in ovarian cells. It is abundantly expressed in colon carcinomas. The gene is localized to human chromosome 16q22.2. |
