Biochem/physiol Actions: | C1QTNF6 (C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 6) is mainly involved in the fatty acid metabolism. It stimulates the phosphorylation of acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC) and fatty acid oxidation in myocytes via the AMPK-ACC pathway. In addition, C1QTNF6 also facilitates the phosphorylation and activation of the 5′-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in skeletal muscle cells. It has also been reported that interleukin-10 expression is stimulated by C1QTNF6 in macrophages thus proving the existence of an anti-inflammatory property in the protein. |
