Pre-sterilized syringe filters for sterilization and particle removal from small samples of liquid (1 to 100mL) dispensed by syringe. Use for preparing and filtering biological fluids, aqueous and buffer solutions, and tissue culture media. Sterilized and lot tested for pyrogenicity, bacterial retention, and flow rate.
Filters are available with membranes of MAGNA nylon, AcetatePlus cellulose acetate, cellulose ester, or polyethersulfone. The nylon filters are hydrophilic with a very low extractable level and resist most solvents. The Triton-free cellulose membranes, which are hydrophilic and have an extractable level of less than 4%, are ideally suited for sterilization of aqueous solutions and of tissue culture media. The polyethersulfone filter provides high throughputs and quick flow rates when filtering or sterilizing viscous proteinaceous.
The filter housing is of modified acrylic, with pore size and filter type printed on the housing. The housing supports the membrane bidirectionally, allowing both injection and aspiration of product. Connects via a female luer lock inlet and a male luer slip outlet.
