Gridded Membrane Discs
By SartoriusGridded membrane filters are used for colony counting, sterility testing, particle testing & microscopy with a pore size ranging from 0.2-1.2 um. These membrane filters are available in sterile, non-sterile and for use in dispensers.
All membranes are made of cellulose nitrate (cellulose ester), a material which assures effective retention with high flow rates and optimum colony growth. The printed grid divides the filtration area into 130 squares; each measuring 3.1x3.1 mm makes the counting easier, especially for higher bacteria counts and for microcolonies, without influencing microbial growth. The three various filter colors, green, white and gray (after wetting black), allow the best contrast to the colonies.
The HighFlow gridded membranes have 30% higher flow rates in comparison to traditional 0.45µm membranes .The special pore structure of the new 0.45µm HighFlow membrane filters allows shorter filtration times due to higher flow rates and throughputs.
