The FreeZone® Triad is an all-inclusive freeze dry system consisting of a benchtop lyophilizer and stoppering tray dryer. The chamber pre-freezes samples to save money and time, eliminating the need for a separate freezer and product transfer. User-friendly controls enable you to start runs quickly and the microprocessor controls up to five different ramping and holding segments to meet different temperature protocols. Upright stainless steel collector coil removes 1.84 liters of water in 24 hours and holds 2.5 liters of ice before defrosting is necessary. With a hot gas defrost to allow for easy cleanup. The built-in pneumatic stoppering mechanism doesn't require compressed gas and can handle glassware from 31mm to 148mm on its 12.4"W x 14.5"D processing shelf. Two 1/3 hp CFC-free and HCFC-free refrigeration systems cool the collector to -85°C (-121°F) to process low eutectic point samples including ones containing acetonitrile. Samples for both types of freeze drying can be run at once. One sample probe monitors sample temperature. Also included are four left-side mounted neoprene valve ports.
Additional features include brushed stainless steel and glacier white epoxy coated steel exterior with a large acrylic door that enables you to view samples without interrupting freeze dry cycle. With audible and visual alarms to indicate that an abnormal system event has occurred. A vacuum control valve maintains set point vacuum level and vacuum break valve bleeds air into the system when power is shut off. Systems also include a rear-mounted RS-232 port to transmit data to a user-supplied computer. Includes stainless steel condensate pan with drain hose. The left side-mounted power switch and rear-mounted electrical receptacle connects the vacuum pump connection.
All models require (not included): a vacuum pump with a displacement of at least 144 liters per minute, 0.002 mBar ultimate pressure, reverse IEC plug, and fitting suitable for 3/4" ID vacuum hose and freeze dry glassware if not bulk freeze drying.
