The Guardian Jr. Air Monitor is a fume hood face velocity monitoring device that continuously checks a hood's face velocity and alerts the operator to air flows that drop below a preset level. It is simple to install on any Labconco non-explosion-proof Protector® or non-explosion-proof Basic Laboratory Hood. The right fixture panel on these hoods is factory-prepared to accommodate the Guardian Jr.

The user selectable setpoint of the Guardian Jr. can be between 50 and 250 fpm. If the hood's face velocity drops below the setpoint for more than six seconds, an audible alarm sounds and an indicator illuminates with a red light. A green light indicates that the face velocity is at or above the setpoint. Includes a Test Reset switch. The mounting location of the Guardian Jr. on the hood meets the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
